these are the issues which latin america needs to be up to date on. They are missing all the intresting back and forhts that hav burbled up since the WAr in Iraq. Since 9-11, Mexicans for examle I don`t feel relly know more about Islam. Yet in eth USA obviously there is a flow of information constantly.
For example, do many peopel here know that now Harvard, Georgetown and Boston College among many ohter high profile shoools have Islamic studies Departments now?
Mexico is stuck in sayinghte pr of the first few days of hte war....like , oh yea, darn terrorist adnstuff. They ahve no idea of hte sensitisation that has gone on sice hten. They loyally follow the interests of the united States, which I don`t know why.
Mexico, for example, coudl try to have an awesoem relationship with arab countries, but I don`t know why they never try. Also, arab countires don`t really try much here either. They are like obsessed wiht the United States. Why do I say awsome?
Aw3soem, becuase each culture is more peaceful in their way of life. Also, they are family oriented. Also, the values of their native tribes are held sacred.
I would argue that it is the itnrests of those who dn`t hold thier ancestry sacred that wish to follow thte uNited States.
So those who do shoudl ignr e thse fools and get together ......What`s the harm of gettingtogether?
No one can kill you over a cup of coffe...and who knows what it will lad to.
We ned moreopen thiking people. We need tothink outside of a box that is constantly forming......
WE think that because ten yeras ago we already learned to ^think outside the box^now we don`t have to do so again?
We do.
And the interests of those who don`t try to see beauty, peace, gain ....bt rather the continuous gain of the same people , the same trends......well that is exactly wrong! Tah is wha ti t means to be stagnat! We have to follow th road less travelled. And be brave. But that is exciting!

this is the beginning...:)
I think we need to remember
Tarim, Yemen...and that it is considered the ¨Daughter of Medina.¨
What is Medina...? To a non muslim, Medina is the town in which Islam ,as it was ony just in a fetal stage of creation....began to create the semblance of a society....as prescribed by Allah (God). As a side note, Mecca, the more famous city, because it is the direction in which Muslims face for prayer, well to be exact it is the Kabbah....well that is the birth place of the prophet Mohammed. peace be upon him. In Mecca, however, you have to read history, although here in the West who knows how well documented we have it , we are neophytes still to the history of the Middle East after Jesus, we kind of got stuck on that story alone.
It is ahem in fact, I would just like to mention, that because of religion we don´t really get to learn real history. The arrogance of Chrisitanity over Islam or vice versa -might be safe to say!, although I am not from there, yet I have heard that there is also some censorship for Christian knowledge in certain strict Islamic countries.
Well , this is all terrible. The truth is in history , and to be denied such knowledge because of religion as and their inherent competitions is absurd.
So yes, returning to the idea that the Mecca is a very important city , for its significance, and yet Medina has the quality of being where the Prophet had to immigrate along with the few new converts to the new revelations of God calling upon people to believe in One God as opposed to various as was the pratice at the time in that area. (Strange people in the US who call Islam a cult need to read up enormously (a bit) on the huge enormous mark it has on history , develpment of humanity , not to mention the sciences..and yes the renassiance and religious thought such as Thomas Aquinas. It goes on and on....) (We often attribute the achivements as an arabic ones, wheras in fact, they are more accurately Muslim, becasue they were generated after the revelation of Islam, as an effect of the enormity of the revelation of the people actually).
We as people need to stand up for being able to learn the religions, the history , the truth. AS we can see, our contexts , as religion , also defines the parameter so f history we have allowedinto our filters. It is time to become aware of this! It is time to decontextualize our versions of knowledge, of occurence of events, of beginnings of epochs sucha as the Renaissance. WE can no longer cling to our parochial, towny versions of history . We have to relaize there is so much out there or in here, as for USA in the Americas, that we don´t even know.
And we are functioning based on this.
No wonder we are dysfunctional right now. But we can be better. And we will be. And this is who we are ,who we will be, and our future.
Thank you.
